Welcome to the Joy of Music Academy website. The Joy of Music has been making music fun in Scarborough for over 30 years. Established in 1988, the Joy of Music Academy started out as a local Scarborough music school to fill the niche of an affordable music school, with qualified teachers.

We teach students of all ages in all styles of music, from beginner to advanced. Whether you are looking to start your own band, prepare for your Royal Conservatory exams, or simply want to sing around the campfire, we provide customized lessons that are individually tailored to your musical goals.

We specialize in private, one on one, custom lessons tailored to suit your individual needs. Offering lessons in many instruments including; piano, keyboards, electric and acoustic guitar, violin, mandolin, vocals, trumpet, flute, recorder, bass, drums and various percussion.

We also offer small group lessons for those of you wanting to start your own band, with a full 24-multitrack recording studio available.

With teachers from all genres and methods, from ARCT, Bachelor of Music to real world performers, you can choose a teacher and a style that is right for you. You have a teacher all to yourself every week, and take as much time as you like (1/2 hour, 1 hour and 2 hour lessons available).

We are East Toronto's primary school in training for RCM (Royal Conservatory of Music) piano examinations. Teaching you from introductory and grade 1 levels, through to grade 10 and ARCT degrees. Using real pianos, private rooms, and knowledgeable instructors at your exclusive service.
